Covid-19: Kwara tops as 574 cases recorded across 21 States including the FCT on Monday

Kwara State on Monday 15th of February, 2021 recorded 89 Covid-19 cases, as 574 cases recorded in country yesterday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported.


The country's total cases now leaps towards 150,000 as the case slows down this week with less than 600 cases recorded both yesterday and today.

According to the agency, 574 cases were recorded in Nigeria with Kwara accounting for 98 cases.

Lagos State which is the country's most affected state came second for the day with 81 cases.

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, which is the second most affected area in the country came fifth with 41, behind Edo and Ondo with 49 and 44 cases respectively.

Others State states include Kano, 34; Ogun, 33; Kaduna, 29; Osun, 28; Enugu, 23; Rivers, 18; Delta, 16; Akwa Ibom, 15; Bauchi, 12; Imo, 10;
Borno, 8; Niger, 8; Kebbi, 7; Nasarawa, 5; Gombe, 3 and Ekiti with 2 cases.

The total cases for each is now as given below:


While the total cases in the country is now 146,928 as at 12:00 on Monday, the total discharge becomes 123,009 after 1,816 people were declared free of the virus yesterday. The discharges includes community recoveries in Oyo (1,198), Lagos (227) and Kwara State (53), managed in line with guidelines.

However, 8 casualties were recorded on Monday bringing the number of Covid-19 related deaths to 1,761.
