Covid-19: Anambra leads as 240 cases and 2 deaths recorded on Sunday in Nigeria

Anambra State on Sunday, 28 February, 2021, leads as Nigeria recorded 240 new Covid-19 cases , as the cases continues to slope downward.


Two Covid-19 related deaths were also recorded on Sunday bringing the total death in the country to 1907, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on has reported.

According to the centre, Anambra State which  yesterday recorded the highest cases with 85 new cases was followed by Lagos State where 83 cases were recorded.

Also, Osun State, Ogun and Kwara State recorded 17, 10 and 9 cases respectively.

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, recorded 8 cases followed by some other states which includes Kano, 7; Abia, 6; Borno, 4; Edo, 2; Bayelsa, 2; Kaduna, 2; Rivers with a single case.

The total cases in each states across the country is given below:


The total cases in the country is now 155,417 with 133,256 total discharged person after 512 persons were discharged yesterday in line with health guidelines.


The discharge includes 170 community recoveries in Lagos State who were discharged after testing negative for the virus thrice.

The outstanding cases in the country as at 12 midnight on Monday is now 19,984 cases.
