Amid Covid-19 struggles, power outage compounds U.S' woes

In the midst of the battle with the deadly Coronavirus pandemic, the United States of America is now recording more death arising from storm caused by power outage.

The state is currently facing power disruption which is caused by stormy weather in the state.

According to reports, the huge storm which has swept across Texas has left millions without power with 21 deaths already recorded.

Millions of people in the state, which rarely experiences such low temperatures, have been struggling to cope with the lack of power and unfavourable weather condition.

Weather experts have forecasted the condition until weekend.

Deaths attributed to the storm have been recorded in Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, North Carolina and Missouri. 

The National Weather Service (NWS) said more than 150 million Americans were now under winter storm warnings.

The breakdown of the casualties includes those who died in traffic accidents and some who suffered carbon monoxide poisoning from running cars and generators indoors to stay warm. 

This is coming at a time when country is battling Covid-19 pandemic and trying to come out of the already inflicted damage.
