Nigeria Covid-19 cases hits 112k as new 1,617 new cases confirmed

The confirmed Covid-19 cases in Nigeria has hit 112,004 as new 1,617 covid cases uncovered on Monday, 18, 20121.

The news cases was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on it official Twitter account.

According to the agency, new 776 cases were discovered in Lagos State with Kaduna, Kwara and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) accounting for 147, 131 and 102 cases respectively.

Other states includes Plateau, 78; Edo, 59; Ogun, 53; Osun, 45; Rivers, 37; Taraba, 36;Nasarawa, 34; Adamawa, 33; Kano, 36; Delta, 20; Ebonyi, 16; Bayelsa, 11; Gombe, 11 and Borno with 2 cases.

The total number of confirmed cases across the country is now 112,004 with 1,449 Covid-19 related deaths after 14 patients died of the virus on Monday.

However, 622 patients were discharged on Monday, having tested negative to the virus bringing the total number of discharged persons to 89,317.

Elsewhere, the U.S still battles the virus with over  174,513 cases recorded in the last 24 hours bringing the total cases in the Trump led economy to 24,074,200 and Covid-19 related death to 398,980.
