Covid-19: 11 deaths, 600 cases recorded in nigeria on Friday

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Friday, February 26, recorded a whopping 11 deaths to the deadly Coronavirus as new 600 cases were confirmed.


The agency on Saturday made this known on its official Twitter handle, where  it has been posting the numbers since it started taking the record February last year.

While the number of cases has reduced drastically since the beginning of this year, the number of death has remained almost the same on daily basis, as 11 people were yesterday lost to the virus.

According to NCDC, Lagos State which remains the disease epicentre in the country recorded 169 cases, followed by Taraba, Ogun and Cross River State where 92, 65 and 57 cases were recorded respectively.


The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, recorded 38 cases which is followed by some other states including Rivers, 28; Kwara, 26; Akwa Ibom, 25; Osun, 21; Plateau, 12; Borno, 9; Gombe, 9; Abia, 8; Ebonyi, 8; Ekiti, 7; Kano, 7; Delta, 6; Oyo, 6; Bauchi, 3; Nasarawa, 3 and Sokoto State with a single case.

While the total confirmed cases in the country is now 155,076, those in each state are given below:


The total number of discharged Covid-19 patients is now 132,544 after 845 patients were discharged which includes 204 community recoveries in Lagos State, 124 in Kwara State, 121 in Osun State and 73 in Rivers State managed in line with guidelines.
