New 1,303 Covid-19 cases discovered in Nigeria on Tuesday global case hit 100m

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has on Tuesday recorded 1,303 new Covid-19 cases in 25 states and in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

According to the centre, the country's most hit state, Lagos, on Tuesday recorded 478 cases bringing the total the area to 46,162

The Federal Capital Territory which is the second most affected area in the country recorded 211 cases followed by Nasarawa and Rivers State where 83 and 72 cases were recorded respectively.

Other states includes Kwara, 42: Edo, 36; Ondo 34; Benue, 32; Kaduna, 32; Katsina 26; Plateau, 26; Kano 25; Taraba, 25; Osun, 22; Delta, 21; Oyo, 21; Niger, 19; Sokoto 18; Ebonyi, 17; Ekiti, 14; Gombe, 13; Ogun, 12; Bauchi, 11; Zamfara, 8; Borno, 4 and Jigawa State with a single case.

The total for each state are given below:

With the new case which was recorded on Tuesday, the total confirmed cases in the country is now 125,299 while the country's Covid-19 related death is now 1,522 after 15 people were lost to the virus on Tuesday.

However, 99,276 patients have recovered from the virus, as 917 were discharged from isolation centres having tested negative for the virus.

The global covid cases on Tuesday hit 100 million mark as the cases surge in Europe and America, acording to data from John Hopkins University.

The global covid related death toll is now over 2.15 million .
