Nigeria records new 829 Covid-19 cases, as spread slows down

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has on Saturday recorded 892 new Covid-19 cases as the daily cases reduces.

The new 829 cases means the country has recorded less than 1000 cases for two consecutive days suggesting reductions in the cases  and adherence to its  COVID-19 protocol during the festive period.

The new cases on Saturday makes it total of 83,576 confirmed cases since the first case was discovered in the country early this year.

Lagos State tops the record for the day with 296 cases 5 cases more than the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, where 291 cases where recorded.

Other states includes;

Kaduna with 79 cases; Rivers, 40; Kano, 35; Nasarawa, 25; Bauchi, 19; Benue, 8; Borno, 7; Edo, 7; Oyo, 7; Sokoto, 7; Cross River, 3; Jigawa, 2 and Ogun State with 2 cases.

With 1 person lost to the virus on Saturday, the total Covid-19 related death now stand at 1,247.

However, 256 patients were discharged on Saturday bringing the total number people discharged across the country to 70,237 leaving 13,081 people currently with virus.

The total cases in Lagos State and the FCT now stands at 28,488 and 11,057 respectively.
