Covid-19: Nigeria records 397 new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Monday, December 28, records new 397 Covid-19 cases as downward trend continues.

The number of cases across the country has been falling drastically since Christmas as against experts expectations of likely surge after Christmas.

The new 397 cases which is one of the lowest brings the total in the country to 84,811 cases.

Lagos State recorded the highest for the day with 144 new cases with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, having 83 new cases which brings the total cases in the two states to 28,885 and 11,359 respectively.

Other states for the day include; Kaduna, 48; Adamawa, 36; Rivers, 22; Oyo, 16; Kebbi, 10; Nasarawa, 7; Sokoto, 7; FCT, 6; Kano, 5; Edo, 4; Jigawa, 3; Ogun, 2; Akwa Ibom, 2; Niger, 1; Bauchi, 1and Zamfara with 1 case.

On Monday, 10 victims were lost to the virus, bringing the the total number of Covid-19 related death to 1,254 in the country.

However, 323 patients were discharged on Monday leaving total of 13,454 people with confirmed cases after 71,375 discharged since the first case of the virus was recorded in February.
