Effect of drinking water during meal?

Over the years a lot of questions have running through the minds of those who are concerned about the effect of water on food.

Some claims that water dilutes saliva, nutrients in food and acid that aid digestion or distorts digestion process .
It was also believed that water temperature, not quantity affects digestion, as many believe it cold water is not good while eating.
Can ordinary water be harmful to us when eating?

Normally, food's digestions start right from the mouth as they mix with saliva which soften  and effect digestive process on the food.

The softened food enters our stomachs, where it mixed with stomach acid. On average, it takes 4 hours for the stomach to digest food before turning it into liquid or chyme.

The chy goes deeper into the intestine, where it provides all the nutrients to the body.
The water does not remain in the stomach for long. It takes about 10 minutes for stomach to move 10 ounces of water.
Therefore,if you drink while eating, the water does not clot in you stomach. It passes through chewed food very quickly, hydrates, and leaves the stomach quickly.

Concerning effect on acidity, water does not decrease acidity in the stomach as the stomach adjusts itself. If the stomach cannot digest a particular food properly, the stomach produces more acids.

Even if you drink a lot of water,it will not influence the acidity level.

Also, food don't influence speed of digestion. There is no study that demonstrates the misconception of liquid pushing solid good into intestine before it's completely digested.

Scientists say liquid leaves body faster than food but do not influence the speed of digestion.

Does water matter during eating?

A research shows that during meal, when a person takes short break to drink water,it slows down the eating process. As a result they eat less, which is good.

If you're used to having tea with food instead of water , there's nothing wrong with that, either . Research shows that there is no difference in acidity levels after drinking tea or water.

The temperature of the water you drink does not influence the speed of digestion or the amount of nutrients it receives.

The stomach adjusts its temperature to the required level.

However, scientists recommend drink warm water that is cooled to 150°F.
