How to correct teeth malocclusion at early age

Teeth malocclusion, sometimes refers to as maldention, is the bad arrangements of the teeth in the mouth causing malignment and disorganisation of the teeth.

This is one of the abnormalities of the teeth that adversely affects individual dental confident and general self esteem.

Apart from the fact that those who have malocclusion usually have difficulty laughing or opening there teeth in the public, they hardly defend oneself in public for the fear of being mocked.

Many of these issues, however, is something that can be prevented by the family members of the person having these problems when he/she was young and just sprouting permanent teeth.

Most of the malocclusions are caused as a result of overcrowding of the teeth or when one of the teeth is growing bigger in size than others and, thus, trying to occupy more space by pushing the contiguous tooth out of proportion.

Although, it can be corrected at any age but at a huge cost, this can be corrected or prevented once detected earlier.

As the milk teeth of a child sprout out, the positioning, size and rate of growth should be observed.

Why does the growth need to be observed? More  often than not, when a bad positioned, bent or not upright tooth grows; it looks to grow slower than normal because it's only one side that first looks visible because it grows laterally.

When a tooth is observed to be growing out of position, bigger than normal or slow in growth; the parents or a guardian of such a person should consult a dentist for proper removal of such tooth to avoid its effects on other teeth.

For instance, if a canine tooth is noticed to be growing awkwardly or in awkward positioning, it is advisable to remove it in order not to affect an already grown tooth.

Although, it is prevalent among the lower set of teeth, all set of teeth is susceptible to malocclusion.

However, it may not be advisable to remove incisor that is deemed to be growing out of proportion because removing it may disfigure the teeth due to its position - middle.

By and large, the best method of correcting malocclusion is to undergo the appropriate orthodontic treatment which involves bracing among others.
