Thursday Covid-19 cases: 20 deaths recorded as Nigeria sees lowest daily cases

Nigeria on Sunday recorded it lowest covid cases so far this year, as it confirmed 506 cases yesterday accompanied by 20 deaths.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, which has been releasing daily data as regards number of the cases in each state of the federation, the country sees 506 yesterday.

Also, Lagos State which is the most affected state, on Thursday fell below 8th place for the day with 22 cases ( although, it had bad no case before).

Yesterday, Ondo recorded the highest with 90 case while it was followed by Kwara, Rivers, Borno, Gombe, FCT, Imo, Ogun and Lagos with 89, 53, 45, 32, 28, 26, 25 and 22 respectively.

Others where the virus was recorded includes Kaduna, 14; Kano, 14; Edo, 13; Osun, 11; Cross River, 10; Yobe, 9; Ekiti, 7; Kebbi, 6; Nasarawa, 6; Oyo, 5 and Jigawa with a single case

With the new cases on Sunday, the total confirmed cases in the country now stands at 139,748, as the cases continues to rise across all states of the federation.

Yesterday 968 people were discharged from three areas in Lagos State, bringing total of discharged people in the country to 113,525. The discharge include 360 community recoveries in Lagos State, 138 in Osun State, 121 in Plateau State, 89 in Imo State and 38 in Kano State managed in line with guidelines.

However, NCDC reported 20 deaths making it 1,667 people to have been lost officially to the disease since the pandemic started in the country.
