COVID-19: Downward trend continues as 512 cases discovered in Nigeria on Sunday

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has on Sunday, 22 February recorded 512 new Covid-19 cases in 19 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

While the country continue to see a downward trend generally together with the FCT, Lagos State which is the epicentre continues to top daily cases.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control which has been taking the data, Lagos State top the day with 116 cases, followed by Ogun, Rivers, Adamawa and Ebonyi State with 56, 47,37 and 37 cases respectively.

Others includes Akwa Ibom, 25; Osun, 21; Bayelsa-18; Kaduna, 17; Oyo, 16; FCT, 15; Ekiti, 14; Kano, 12; Edo, 12; Borno, 9; Yobe, 8; Ondo, 6; Nasarawa, 4; Bauchi, 2 and Kwara with 3 cases.

The total cases in each state are are given below:

The total confirmed case in the country is now 152,074 while a total of 1,839 have now been lost to the virus after 8 deaths were recorded yesterday.

However, 614 patients were discharged yesterday making it 128,619 people to have been discharged since the first case was recorded in February last year.
