Covid-19: 10 dead as 662 cases recorded in Nigeria on Thursday

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Thursday recorded 16 COVID-19 related deaths as 662 cases were recorded in the country.

The country's most affected state, Lagos, continues to top the daily rank while the Federal Capital Territory come second yesterday having seen a downward trend in the last five days.

According to the country's centre for disease control, Lagos State recorded 167 cases on Friday while it is followed by FCT where 116 cases were recorded.

Other states where the cases were recorded includes Ogun, 45; Kano, 44; Akwa Ibom, 35; Edo, 34; Rivers, 27; Kaduna, 23; Osun, 23; Kwara, 22; Taraba, 22; Oyo, 20; Ondo, 19; Plateau 14; Abia, 11; Imo, 11; Nasarawa, 7; Niger, 6; Bayelsa 5; Delta, 5; Enugu, 3; Ekiti, 2 and Jigawa with a case.

The total cases in the country as at Thursday 18th of February, 2021 is 150,908 cases.

While sixteen people were lost to the virus yesterday, 695 people were discharged having tested negative to the virus.

The discharge includes community recoveries in Lagos (535), Kaduna (73) and Imo State (69).

The total number of Covid-19 related deaths now 1,813 and number of discharged patients since the virus was first recorded in February is 127,500.
