Nigeria records 1,867 cases on Friday

1,867 new cases were recorded in Nigeria on Friday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has reported.

Lagos remains the epicentre in the country and the trend continues on Friday, as 713 New cases were recorded in the state.

The state has been leading all other states in the country in the number of daily cases recorded in past two week with only the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)  coming ahead sparingly.

However, Plateau State followed Lagos State on Friday with 217 new cases.

This north central state is followed by the FCT which recorded 199 cases the same day.

Other states includes Kaduna, 117; Oyo 79; Enugu, 58; Ondo 53; Kano, 49; Sokoto 43; Ogun, 38; Osun, 37; Nasarawa, 36; Rivers- 28; Benue, 24; Delta-24; Niger, 24; Gombe 18; Edo 16; Taraba 12; Bayelsa 10; kiti, 9; Borno 6; Zamfara, 2 and JJigawa 1.

The total cases in each state are given below;

The total confirmed cases in the country is now 107,345 cases since the first case was first discover in February in Nigeria.

Unfortunately, 1,413 people have been lost to the virus with 8 people dying yesterday.

However, 705 people were on Friday discharged from hospital in the country having tested negative to the virus.

Yesterday, the total worldwide death toll reached the 2 million mark with the U.S being the most affected.
