Covid-19: 1,031 cases recorded in Nigeria on Wednesday

New 1,031 Covid-19 cases were on Thursday recorded in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has reported.


The surge in Lagos continues as more than 50% of the total number recorded across the country on Thursday was discovered in Lagos State.

On Thursday, new 570 Covid-19 cases were recorded in Lagos followed by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, where 117 cases were recorded and Kaduna State with 109 cases.

Other states includes Nasarawa, 34; Bauchi, 31; Kano, 28; Plateau, 26; Sokoto, 26; Ogun, 21; Edo, 18; Rivers, 16; Abia, 10; Imo, 7; Taraba, 6; Delta, 4; and Osun State with 4.

Total number of cases in each State are stated below:


The total number of confirmed cases in the country is now 87,510 while total number of deaths is now 1,289 as 11 deaths was recorded on New year Eve.

 

391 patients were, however, discharged having tested negative to the virus thrice. The total number of discharged persons in the country now stands at 73,713 leaving 12,508 people currently with the virus.
