Lagos Covid-19 cases on high as Nigeria records 1,016

Lagos State on Wednesday recorded 434 new Covid-19 cases as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, recorded over 1000 first time since five days ago.

The country last recorded over 1000 on Friday when its recorded 1,041 cases with less than than number in four consecutive days.

On Wednesday, new 1,061 cases were recorded in the country of which over 40% was recorded in Lagos.

 cases was recorded in Lagos bringing the total in the state to 29,618 followed by the Federal Capital Territory, where 155 cases was uncovered to bring the total in the country's capital to 11,588.

Other states for the day includes Plateau, 94; Kaduna, 56; Rivers, 56; Oyo, 30; Nasarawa, 27; Zamfara, 22; Abia, 22; Enugu, 18; Kano, 6; Bayelsa, 15; Edo,14; Ogun, 11; Borno, 10; Ebonyi,10 ;Jigawa, 7; Anambra, 4; Delta 3; Niger 3; and Osun with 3.

The total cases of the virus in the country now stands at 86,576 while the total to have died from the virus is 1,278 having unfortunately lost 11 patients to the diseases on Wednesday.

However, 1,385 people were on Wednesday discharged having tested negative for the virus thrice bringing the total of discharged people to 73,322.
