Covid-19: 11 dead as 655 cases recorded in Nigeria on Wednesday

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Wednesday recorded 11 COVID-19 related deaths as 655 cases were recorded in the country.

The country's most affected state, Lagos tops the day with 240 cases followed by Ogun State, River State and the Federal Capital Territory, having 88, 56 and 51 cases respectively.

Other states where the was recorded on Thursday include Kaduna, 43; Kano, 25; Plateau, 21; Taraba 19; Edo, 17; Abia, 15; Delta, 13; Nasarawa, 11; Akwa Ibom, 10; Kwara 10; Oyo, 10; Kebbi, 6; Borno, 5; Bayelsa, 4; Gombe, 4; Ekiti, 2; Osun State with 2 cases.

Total cases for each state is given below:

The total cases in the country as at Wednesday 24th of February, 2021 is 153,842 cases.

While 11 people were lost to the virus yesterday, 875 people were discharged having tested negative for the virus.

The discharge includes 214 community recoveries in Lagos State, 61 in FCT and 11 in Benue State in accordance with guidelines.

The number of Covid-19 related deaths now 1,885 while the number of discharged patients since the virus was first recorded in February is 130,818.
