Nigeria records 1,479 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday

New 1,479 Covid-19 were on Thursday recorded in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported.


According to NCDC which made this known on its official Twitter account, the virus keep risibg in Lagos State, as new 697 cases were on Thursday discovered in the state.

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT recorded new 201 cases with Nasarawa which has new 80 cases.

Other states includes Plateau State, 74; Rivers, 72; Edo, 46; Adamawa, 43; Osun, 39; Akwa Ibom, 35; Delta, 31; Anambra, 27; Oyo, 24; Kano, 21; Abia, 19; Enugu, 19; Ogun, 18; Sokoto, 12; Bauchi, 7; Taraba, 7; Ekiti, 4; Gombe, 4; Imo, 4; Bayelsa, 2; Jigawa, 2 and Zamfara with 1 case.

The total cases since the first case was discovered is now 105,408 cases and the total Covid-19 related deaths now stands at 1,4050 after 23 people died of the virus on Thursday.

However, 1,479 patients were discharged after testing negative for the virus thrice.

Globally, 93,105,607 people have been confirmed to have the virus worldwide with the U.S being the world epicentre, having 23.4 million cases. South-Africa remains the epicentre in Africa with over 1.3 million cases followed by Egypt.

The United States also broke the record for a single day death with over 4,300 Covid-19 related death on Tuesday.
