1,386 new covid cases discovered in Nigeria

At least 1,386 new Covid-19 cases were discovered in Nigeria on Wednesday, 20 January, 2021, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported.

According to the centre, 476, 163 and 116 cases were discovered in Lagos State, Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) respectively on Wednesday.

Other states includes Kaduna, 114; Oyo, 68; Plateau, 62; Ogun, 56; Imo, 55; Osun, 55; Edo, 51; Anambra, 50; Kwara, 44; Kano, 17; Ebonyi, 14; Cross River, 10; Delta, 10; Jigawa, 8; Bayelsa,6; Ekiti, 6; Borno, 2 and Taraba state with 2 cases.

The total confirmed cases not stands at 114,691 with Covid-19 related deaths now 1,478 after 14 people were lost to the virus on Wednesday.

However, 92,336 people have been discharged since the first case emerged in the country last year.
